The HollowGlide hollow outer chainring provides vast improvements in rigidity by virtually eliminating outer chainring flex and significantly enhances shift performance, even under high load.
The chainring teeth are specifically designed to work with 11-speed HG-EV chains, increasing contact to provide greater efficiency and improved power transfer.
The industry-leading HollowTech II cold-forged 4-arm hollow cranks have been evolved for maximum rigidity while reducing weight.
Wide gear pitch spacing increases clearance between the chain and leading teeth, providing compatibility with frames with O.L.D. 135/142 mm and 410mm chainstay lengths.
The SHIMANO ULTEGRA R8000 series crank features lightweight crank arms, a hollow outer chainring, and a wider gear pitch for increased clearance on modern road frames. It is available with 53-39, 52-36, 50-34, and 46-36T chainrings and 165, 170, 172.5, and 175mm crank arm lengths.
