For many years DT Swiss eschewed offering a carbon Enduro wheel for a simple reason; their alloy wheels were just so good that there was no sound engineering logic for offering a more costly option that offered limited advantages over DT’s renowned Spline 1
However, with years of in-house carbon manufacturing and research now behind them, DT have now applied this experience to create a carbon wheel set that stands above all previous offerings
With 29 inch wheels and the additional leverage they generate the inherent extra stiffness of carbon has allowed DT to shed significant weight from their classic 30 mm 29 Enduro rims
Despite this the EXC is by far the strongest carbon rim DT have ever made, with continuous strand lay-up construction for enhanced impact resistance, designed by DT, made by DT and tested to destruction by DT at their test lab in Biel, Switzerland, no open moulds here
The 180 hubs feature SiNC ceramic bearings and DT’s cutting edge, Ratchet EXP system, an evolution of the original twin Hgi ratchet, the ratchet EXP integrates the inner ratchet into the hub, allowing wider bearing spacing, fewer moving parts and more precise alignment
The resulting hubs are even more durable and reliable than our classic ratchet 240’s but stiffer and significantly lighter with the fast rolling benefits of Ceramic bearings
Wuith these hubs and rims the EXC’s are able to offer a super tough 30 mm 29 inch Enduro race wheel system that weighs a ground-breaking 1,670 grams a pair, 20% lighter than most equivalent carbon wheelsets
A blend of DT’s premium straight pull Aero Comp and Aerolite spokes offers an optimum blend of stiffness, comfort and low weight
Rear wheels include both Shimano MICRO SPLINE and SRAM XD freewheels for easy conversion
When bought as a pair they will include wheels bags, 6-bolt rotor adaptors, spoke tools, tubeless rim tape and tubeless valves
